Former student Andreas Mader won the Werner Pirchner Competition on 2 October. This year the competition was open for trumpet and saxophone. Andreas won a cash prize of €5,000.

In 2021, Andreas graduated with a master Live Electronics at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. Before that, he also obtained his bachelor's and master's degrees "cum laude" in the class of Arno Bornkamp.
