CvA to welcome two new principal subject teachers of clarinet

The Conservatorium van Amsterdam proudly welcomes two new principal subject teachers of clarinet: Johan Naus and Olivier Patey. Olivier Patey and Johan Naus are Principal Clarinet with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra and philharmonie zuidnederland respectively. Additionally, both have made an international career as soloists and chamber musicians.

‘We are delighted that Olivier and Johan are joining us,’ says Pierre Volders, Head of Winds at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. ‘We look forward to working together with them.’
Johan has already started his teaching activities; Olivier will join the team as of 1 September 2023.

Olivier Patey is Principal Clarinet with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra. Additionally, he performs as a soloist and chamber musician, playing at prestigious concert halls such as Wigmore Hall, London, and Carnegie Hall, New York. He is closely involved with the Arties Festival in India and runs his own CD label, Arties RecordsMore about Olivier Patey

Johan Nausis Principal Clarinet with philharmonie zuidnederland and Phion. He is also a member of Ensemble88, which performs contemporary music. He toured Europe with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, playing at the Lucerne Festival and Musikfest Berlin. More about Johan Naus
