Saxophonist Tallulah Molleson has won the Young Metropole Award for Best Soloist at the Grachtenfestival Jazz Competition 2023. The prize was awarded for the first time.

‘Tallulah Rose is an outstanding band leader with a great presentation,' the judges said. 'She is a so-called triple talent (composition, tenor saxophone and vocals) and has a beautiful sound as a tenor saxophonist and vocalist. Her solos were well-thought-out and balanced.’

As winner of the Young Metropole Award, Tallulah will soon make a guest appearance in a programme of the Young Metropole Orchestra.
