Last Monday marked the commencement of the 2023-2024 season of the AHK Startercafé with an inspiring and motivating kick-off event at the AHK Culture Club.
The Kick-off serves as a moment for teachers, staff, and programme leaders to connect, explore the forthcoming workshop programme at the AHK Startercafé, and engage in conversations about entrepreneurship and the current trends and developments in entrepreneurship within arts education.
Education through Co-creation
Anthony Heidweiller, deputy director of the ATD, captivated everyone with his opening remarks on entrepreneurship and its transmission. Annet Lekkerkerker, Chair of the Board, took part in a panel discussion alongside Eefje Aarts, an alumna of Production Performing Arts and an executive producer, and Lobke de Boer, an alumna of the Film Academy and the proprietor of the casting agency Lobke de Boer. Joska Spruijt from KAOSPILOT, a Danish academy specializing in creative leadership and social entrepreneurship, delivered a concise keynote and an inspiring workshop that centered on co-creation in education. The evening concluded with a communal gathering, during which visitors continued to deliberate on the topics discussed, actions taken, and lessons learned.
Workshops - Networking - Refreshments
The AHK Starterscafé, located within the AHK Culture Club, is designed specifically for all AHK students, alumni, and individuals in the creative sector interested in delving into the business aspects of their profession.
How to determine a fair hourly rate and what you need to know about freelancing are topics covered in the workshops, which are offered every Monday evening. These workshops are led by professionals from the field. The AHK Starterscafé offers an excellent opportunity to connect with students and alumni from all academies, as well as engage with recent graduates and professionals working in the field.
These workshops are free for AHK students and alumni who graduated after 2020. Older alumni and those who did not attend AHK are also welcome; they can purchase tickets (please refer to the link in the agenda). Following the workshops, there is time to mingle and meet others while enjoying a refreshing drink. It remains a café experience!
When? Every Monday evening from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM. Where? Located in the AHK Culture Club at the Marineterrein.
