We have received the news that author, director and visual artist Gita Hacham passed away on Sunday, June 16. Gita died quite suddenly after a short illness.

Gita Hacham (Birgitta Hacham, Sweden, 1957) came to the Netherlands in 1976. She developed into a writer, director and visual artist after studying Anthropology, Race and Ethnic studies at the University of Amsterdam, and Script Writing at the Dutch Film and Television Academy. 

Gita graduated from the master's program DasArts (now DAS Theatre) at the Academy for Theater and Dance (ATD), taught Theatre Directing at the ATD, and was artistic director of the writing course FillingtheGap.

We wish everyone strength in coping with this loss.
