As of the new academic year, Jack Pisters will resign from his duties as study leader of the Pop Department of the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. After more than twenty years, Pisters says he wants to change tack and focus on other aspects of his career.

'The celebration of twenty years of Pop Music at the CvA was a moment for me to reflect on what I have achieved and how I want to shape my career in the coming years,' says Jack Pisters. 'I am very proud of the Pop and AEMA Departments, but I feel it is time for someone else to take them another step forward.'

The management greatly appreciates Pisters' commitment and thanks him for all his work. Director Okke Westdorp: ‘Jack has done a great job setting up these departments. We are very grateful to him for that.’

Pisters: ‘I am sure it will come as a surprise for many that I am leaving, but I did not want to "colour" the last few months with my farewell. Moreover, I am convinced that I will still meet everyone frequently.’

From July 8th, deputy director Joachim Junghanss has taken on the interim role of study leader of Pop & AEMA. Recruitment for a new study leader will start in the coming months.
