Kick-off marks the opening of AHK Starterscafé
On Monday evening, 9 September, the annual kick-off of the AHK Starterscafé took place in the AHK Culture Club. Accompanied by a delicious meal and engaging speakers, the year programme of the pop-up café was presented.
AHK supports students and alumni in their professional development. As a supplement to the entrepreneurship education in the curriculum, students and alumni can participate in extracurricular workshops at the AHK Starterscafé on how to enter the job market. Passionate professionals teach them the tricks of the trade and provide valuable knowledge and skills for a successful start to their careers.
Engaging Kick-off
During the, now already traditional, kick-off, the year programme of the AHK Starterscafé was presented to teachers, students, and involved colleagues. The theme of this kick-off was: How commercial do you want and are allowed to be as a creator? The guest speaker was motivator and TV personality Eva Eikhout, who, as an enthusiastic entrepreneur with a healthy dose of self-irony and humor, spoke about her eventful start as a TV maker and presenter and about becoming friends with yourself. Who are you, what are you, and how does this contribute to or strengthen what you love to do most?
The AHK Culture Club was atmospherically decorated with lights and long, beautifully set tables. In the spirit of ‘eating together brings people together,’ all guests sat down for a unique meal provided by caterer Isa Kookt. Theater education student Elisa Costa opened the evening with a powerful and personal spoken word performance, and Judith Prins led a discussion with three AHK students about work, assignments, commerce, and staying true to yourself. This led to an engaging discussion, making it clear that the topic resonates with those present. It was an inspiring evening that captured the relaxed atmosphere of the AHK Starterscafé perfectly.
The Month at the AHK Starterscafé
On Monday, September 16th, the doors of the AHK Starterscafé will open again for a varied new season. Social media expert Melanie Esther will kick things off with the workshop Present yourself online. What comes up when you google yourself, and is that what you want to project? Other workshops in September include Find work that suits you and Map out your job opportunities. Check out the full agenda here.
New This Year
To make it easier for students to attend the workshops, the start times have been moved up by half an hour, and they will be offered a tasty meal by Isa Tozer. The workshops until December will be held in Dutch. English-language workshops will follow in January.
The AHK Starterscafé takes place every Monday evening from 17:30 to 20:30 the AHK Culture Club on the Marineterrein.
