9 June | Black metal band Terzij de Horde closes Reinwardt Academy’s Artist in Residence programme

Published on

On Monday 9 June you’re invited to join the unique 'performance workshop' of the black metal band Terzij de Horde at the Q-Factory. You can register for this festive finale of the Artist in Residence (AIR) programme Performing Heritage of the Reinwardt Academy.

Terzij de Horde
Terzij de Horde gives a participatory research live show about emotions and the (re)valuation of mystical experiences. Their loud music provides space for sadness, mourning and feelings that are usually not given a place in daily life. To give meaning to the music, we’ll combine the performance with emotion networking, a method developed by the Reinwardt Academy and Imagine IC. Emotion networking visualizes the interaction between people and their feelings about an idea, object or experience and makes it discussable.

Archiving Heaviness
This performance is co-curated by Jonathan Even-Zohar, project lead of Archiving Heaviness. In this project he searches for the meaning that heavy music has for the artists, visitors and organizers of the Roadburn festival. Various heritage approaches are used to collect stories and perspectives, considering the festival as a heritage community. The performance-workshop of Terzij de Horde helps the project by a more in-depth conversation about the emotional meaning of making and experiencing heavy music.
