Violinist Hawijch Elders, alumna of the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, has won the second Premio Internazionale Antonio Mormone. She was awarded an amount of € 30.000,-, a recording of an album with Universal, plus three years of artistic management coordinated by the Fondazione La Società dei Concerti, with engagements in Italy and abroad.
The finals took place from 17–22 June in Milan, Italy, and included a solo recital, a chamber recital, a sonata on a historical instrument and a concerto. The last performance took place at Teatro alla Scala, where Hawijch played Paganini’s Concerto no.1, accompanied by the Orchestra Accademia del Teatro alla Scala and conducted by Massimo Zanetti.
In 2022, Hawijch graduated with the highest distinction from the master's programme at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, where she studied with Ilya Grubert. Since September 2022, she has been Artist in Residence at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel, where she studies with Augustin Dumay
