What does the work of a lecturer actually entail and what happens within a Research Group? You can read about this in the series of interviews with lecturers. In part 2, Associate Professor of Music Atser Damsma talks about his research into how we can use AI to make music.

At the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, students learn to shape their musical careers in such a way that they are equipped for the future not only as artists, but also in business, physical, mental and technological terms. Atser explores  the latest possibilities. 'Our research offers students and teachers tools to integrate developments in the field of artificial intelligence into their practice. In my master’s course, students learn to build AI systems themselves. One student, for instance, developed a system that generates piano accompaniment based on what he plays on his bass guitar.”
