Open Call for Workshop Proposals

Do you have a passion for cross-curricular education and an inspiring idea for an Arts❤️Sciences workshop or experiment? Would you like to test these or share them with educational experts and peers? Then we look forward to receiving your Workshop Proposal for the symposium Arts❤️Sciences: Cross-curricular Education for the Future! Chance of being picked up for publication in Kunstzone!

Cross-curricular education at the intersection of arts, sciences and technology

Complex societal challenges, such as artificial intelligence, digitalization, demographic changes and climate change, require combined knowledge from different knowledge domains. These 'wicked' issues are increasing the demand for cross-curricular education. Arts❤️Sciences, innovative education at the intersection of art, science and technology in society (internationally, STEAM is often referred to), offers tools for cross-disciplinary ways of learning and problem solving. However, in educational practice there is often still a lack of structural embedding in the curriculum. In basic education, the emphasis is mainly on basic skills, which are often contrasted with cross-curricular skills such as critical thinking. But is this assumption correct? Isn't Arts❤️Sciences an essential element for the development of basic skills? Higher education often focuses on discipline-specific competencies. Are students sufficiently prepared for a future in which developments, such as AI, are increasingly decisive? Arts❤️Sciences can offer a new view of the arts and the position of artists and provide new perspectives for professionals, researchers and educational innovators from various fields, such as technology, science and the social domain. Central to this symposium is the question of how both the development of basic skills and future-oriented cross-disciplinary skills can be given substance through the lens of Arts❤️Sciences.

Symposium Arts❤️Sciences: Cross-curricular Education for the Future

During the symposium Arts❤️Sciences: Cross-curricular Education for the Future, experts share their knowledge and research in the field of cross-disciplinary education, where the interdisciplinary practices of artists are considered a source of inspiration for the innovation of basic and higher education. In addition to lectures and presentations, the symposium offers space for workshops on current developments in cross-curricular education, in which ArtsSciences is the driving force.
