Introduction AHK (guest) lecturers
For all AHK (guest) teachers, regardless of your experience in teaching, we organise an introduction day several times a year. During this day you get the chance to learn more about the Amsterdam University of the Arts (AHK) and special attention is paid to the role of the teacher in higher art education. In addition, this day gives you the opportunity to meet other teachers from all the academies of the AHK.
The day serves as an introduction to AHK, during which we will discuss key aspects relevant to teaching at the institution:
- Providing a safe and inclusive learning environment;
- Six steps of a lesson;
- Feedback and evaluation.
And practical matters also come up, such as:
- What is the organisation of the AHK like;
- Development opportunities as a teacher at the AHK.
During the day, there will be plenty of room for bringing in your own questions.
Trainers
The training will be given by Joyce Brouwer. Joyce has been associated with the AHK as a trainer/supervisor of teachers for quite some time.
Editions
The training is organised four times a year. The training lasts from 10.30 am to 4 pm. The next training session of academic year 2024-2025 is on:
- Thursday 7 November 2024
- Friday 28 March 2025
- Early June 2025, date to follow
