Led by Marijke Hoogenboom, the Art Practice and Development research group focuses on current developments, opportunities and challenges in the individual art disciplines, and on artistic processes in multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary contexts. The primary aim of the research group is to advance a form of knowledge production based on artistic expertise, research issues and methods that contribute to innovation and renewal in education and the professional field.

The research group’s four cornerstone programmes are: Artists in Residence, the ARTI research group, coproductions and publications.

The research group is also involved with other inter-faculty platforms at the school, including the Elective Course Consultation (Overleg Keuzevakken), and it forges wide-ranging links with the professional field.
