Research Themes
Our research group has two themes: interdisciplinarity and social engagement. These align with the AHK research profile ‘Engagement through critical creative practice’.
Interdisciplinarity
This theme explores the connections between different disciplines. We observe that boundaries between fields are blurring and changing. Many complex problems require a broad approach that combines knowledge from multiple disciplines.
Social Engagement
Arts education is at the heart of society. This theme examines how arts education can contribute to societal reflection, critical citizenship, and inclusion.
AHK Research Profile: ‘Engagement through critical creative practice’

That is why the six research groups at AHK operate within a shared research profile: ‘Engagement through critical creative practice’. Our researchers and artists critically engage with societal questions. They aim to raise awareness and create social and artistic impact. Read more.
