Wicked Arts Education
One of our most prominent projects is Wicked Arts Education. This programme encourages art lessons and projects that go beyond the ordinary: we challenge participants to approach the world, the arts, and themselves with a fresh, inquisitive perspective. Because arts education is not a box-ticking exercise, but an adventure.
Wicked Arts Education is linked to two books: Wicked Arts Assignments and Wicked Arts Education. Additionally, the project offers worksheets, websites, podcasts, interviews, publications, events, and a webinar about the Wicked method.
Books
Wicked Arts Assignments (2020, Valiz) focuses on the power of the art assignment. The book provides both theory and background on art assignments, alongside nearly one hundred creative, bold, and provocative tasks designed by art educators from around the world.
Wicked Arts Education (2024, Valiz) is a workbook for creative curriculum design, based on an engaging design model that enables you to develop Wicked Arts Education for all ages and educational settings.
Worksheets
To shape your Wicked arts curriculum or to assess the work, you can use various worksheets. These can be applied across all art disciplines as well as interdisciplinary projects. You can download, print, and use these worksheets freely in a variety of contexts. We also invite you to create your own rubrics.
