Lecture Series on Interdisciplinary Collaboration in the Arts
Complex challenges in our globalized and technological society demand interdisciplinary collaboration. Artists increasingly work together, either with each other or with experts from other fields. This exchange between disciplines is a crucial way to innovate and rejuvenate one’s artistic practice.
In the lecture series Multi/Cross/Inter/Trans, various speakers explore how interdisciplinary practices can inspire innovation in arts education. The series showcases five inspiring interdisciplinary practices at the intersection of art, science, and technology. While the series is primarily aimed at students of the Amsterdam University of the Arts (AHK), it is free and open to all interested parties.
The questions raised by the speakers serve as a starting point for rethinking the content of arts education in the 21st century, offering inspiration for both creators and educators. The speakers will address topics such as reimagining the relationship between humans and nature, questioning the (future) impact of technology on humanity, and how art can defend democracy and offer a counter-narrative to post-truth politics.
The lectures take place on five Tuesdays from 18:00 to 19:30 and are organized by the Breitner Academy and the Arts Education Research Group of the Amsterdam University of the Arts.
