The Art of Designing

In today's educational landscape, teachers are expected not only to teach but also to contribute to the development and shaping of education based on their personal vision. This is especially true in the field of the arts, a dynamic domain characterized by ever-evolving artistic expressions, unpredictable creators, and shifting perspectives.
With this in mind, the LKCA (National Centre of Expertise for Cultural Education and Amateur Arts), the National Consultative Body for Art Teacher Training Programmes (KVDO), and the Arts Education Research Group of the Amsterdam University of the Arts organised the competition The Art of Designing. This competition highlights the unique expertise of future art teachers as educational designers.
Robbert Roskam (jury prize) and Jildau Nijboer (audience prize) were the first winners of The Art of Designing. Third- and fourth-year students were invited to submit their educational designs for this competition. During the festive award ceremony, 10 nominees presented their projects.
