With the concept Wicked Arts Education, we advocate a form of arts education that is contemporary, inclusive and cutting-edge. Wicked Arts Education offers opportunities to learn about ourselves, the arts and the world. The websites, podcasts, studies and tools on this page are linked to two main publications:
Wicked Arts Assignments (2020, Valiz): discusses the power of the arts assignment. It provides both a theoretical view on arts assignments and nearly a hundred creative, bold and provocative assignments that were collected from contemporary arts educators.
Wicked Arts Education (2024, Valiz): a workbook that will help you to build arts curricula from scratch, based on a clear and appealing design model for a Wicked Arts Curriculum.
Worksheets Wicked Arts Education
In this link you will find several worksheets to shape your Wicked arts curriculum, or to assess the work. These can be used in all art disciplines as well as in interdisciplinary projects. You can download these worksheets for free, print them and use them in various contexts. We also invite you to make up your own ‘rubrics’.

In 2021, the Network for Film Education organized the webinar "Wicked Film Assignments: Film Education as an Artistic Practice," offering tips and tricks for challenging film assignments, which were designed in the same way as the art assignments in the book "Wicked Arts Assignments."
