Mensen reageren op hedendaagse kunst

Led by professor emeritus Terry Barrett, students at the Academy of Art in Education studied the responses to contemporary art of people who do not encounter and culture in their daily lives. Children and elderly people, business people and homeless people, and young people (some with developmental problems and some without) were invited to give their response to specific artworks.
This unique Thieme Art book on the project contains a fascinating range of comments by a vast number of people in the Netherlands, as well as images and reflections, alongside interviews with the artists involved. It also contains contributions from well-known and less well-known critics, scientists and fellow artists, including Jan Mulder, Maarten van Roozendaal and Hans den Hartog Jager.
This book offers insights and inspiration on the subject of the perception of contemporary art for students and teachers in primary and secondary education as well as art education.
