At the end of 2023, lecturer Peter van Assche was a guest of the Norman Foster Foundation in Madrid to talk about "affordable housing" in a circular economy. Ten selected students from around the world were guests of the foundation for a week to work on three design briefs in Munich, Mumbai and Chicago. They were assisted with lectures, excursions and workshops by a team of experts that included, besides Peter van Assche, urban planner Maria Vassilakou, publicist Jonathan Ledger, architect Tatiana Bilbao, engineer Stuart Smith, architect Alejandro Aravena and, of course, Norman Foster himself.
