That’s a good question because studying does indeed cost money. Tuition fees vary: they depend on your program, the length of your studies, and your nationality. Additionally, you'll need money for housing and food. Read more about financial matters here.

Each year, you pay tuition fees to study at the AHK. This amount varies from year to year. Payments are made through Studielink. Read more about the fees and how to pay.
As a student, you are responsible for finding your own housing. Finding something in Amsterdam is certainly challenging, but not impossible. Here you can find tips for housing and other alternatives.
Visa and residence permit services are not required for nationals of countries within the European Economic Area: EU countries, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Monaco and Vatican City.
Students from outside of the European Union need a residence permit and sometimes also an entry visa to study in the Netherlands.

AHK Campus
The AHK campus is spread across Amsterdam and offers various facilities to explore, meet, inspire, and collaborate. As an AHK student, you are warmly welcomed everywhere and can enter any location you like. The campus includes, in addition to the academies:
- AHK MakerSpace
In the AHK MakerSpace, students and alumni can experiment with various technologies, such as 3D printers and laser cutters, and work with materials for, for example, models, prototypes, sets, and installations. - VRAcademy
The VRAcademy is an XR (= Extended Reality) base where you can learn to work with virtual reality techniques. - AHK Culture Club
This is a place, a platform, and a program for meeting, creating, experimenting, and developing. - Our Libraries
Each academy has its own library. As an AHK student or staff member, you are welcome in all libraries!
Entrepreneurship
For entrepreneurial students and alumni, we offer many extras. We provide free workshops and training at the AHK Starterscafé. Here, you'll also find additional workshops, training sessions, networking event dates, and an overview of activities at the academies. On BeroepKunstenaar.nl, you can find everything about the business side of working in the arts and culture sector. The knowledge base contains over three hundred pages on topics such as the field, entrepreneurial skills, funding, taxes, and legal matters.
Collaboration
Sometimes interdisciplinary collaboration is already established within your program or education. You can also take the initiative yourself. Each program offers varying degrees of space for this.At MyAHK you can find a message board where you post your project and ask for other students to collaborate.
You may need support for various reasons, such as stress, financial problems, a disability, illness, mental health issues, lack of motivation, gender transition, or caregiving responsibilities. Log in to MyAHK to obtain the contact details for the right person who can assist you further.
At the beginning of your studies, you will receive a personal login code for our intranet www.myahk.nl and an AHK email address. MyAHK provides access to all the systems you will need during your studies, such as your email, study results, schedules, and a digital learning environment. Additionally, you’ll find news, announcements, and practical information there. We communicate via MyAHK, so be sure to log in regularly to avoid missing anything.
