EG l PC Company in the School
Between experiment and heritage
This collection of writings reflects upon the residency of dance company EG | PC at the Amsterdam Theaterschool in 2005-2006 and offers an insight into the lively discussions during the residency on notions of contemporary dance making, transfer, repertory and reconstruction.
How do we safeguard existing work, when a small company doesn’t have the means to return to their own repertory? Can we actually build a repertory, when the meaning of the work is very much based on its innovative and controversial ethics? How do we pass on a particular vocabulary when it has never before been defined?
