Hospitality is not a home

‘Hospitality is not a home’ is the new RTRSRCH journal of the ARTI research group in collaboration with student of the Master Film at the Netherlands Film Academy.

‘Hospitality is not a home’ presents the work of nine Masters Film students: Yael Assaf, Bogomir Doringer, Igor Kramer, Joep Kuijper, Taatske Pieterson, Claire van der Poel, Kay Schuttel, Sonja Wyss and Sam Yazdanpanna Ardekani.
Over a period of six months they engaged with the challenge of relating to the theme of hospitality—in imagery, through imagery, with imagery, and with the absence of imagery.

A quotation: "...The dormant volcano is yours to discover. Place your shoes on the doorstep. And look."

This issue’s guest editor is novelist Maya Rasker, who is a visiting lecturer at the Master of Film. She was invited to take on this role as part of her Artistic Research Master at the UvA, by Sher Doruff one of the editors of RTRSRCH.

RTRSRCH  is an initiative of ARTI (Artistic Research, Theory and Innovation): artists and researchers from the creative and performing arts at the Amsterdam University of the Arts, that are actively engaged in practice-based research processes. RTRSRCH reflects the interests and problematising strategies of the ARTI research group concerning current discourse in practice-based research in the arts, exploring and facilitating processes for creating, sharing and distributing emerging knowledge(s). The presentation of content will vary from issue to issue, dependent on the topic and stylistic concerns of the guest editor.
