Bart Römer new director Film Academy

The board of the Amsterdam School of the Arts has appointed the television programmer and writer Bart Römer (54) as director of the Netherlands Film and Television Academy. He will take over from Renate Litjens, who is interim director of the Film Academy, on 1 September 2012. Since 2009 Römer has been network manager of Nederland 2, the channel for art, culture and in-depth programmes of the public broadcasting corporation.

Talent Grant for talented non-EEA students

The Amsterdam School of the Arts (AHK) has designed a Talent Grant for talented students from outside the European Economic Area (EEA). Now, students of exceptional merit can apply for a grant to help towards covering their tuition fees.

Multidisciplinary School of the Arts

The Academy of Fine Art in Education, the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, the Netherlands Film and Television Academy, the Theaterschool, the Reinwardt Academy and the Amsterdam Academy of Architecture together form the Amsterdam School of the Arts (AHK).

The Amsterdam School of the Arts is constantly innovating and developing. It occupies a prominent place, both nationally and internationally, in education, the arts, and cultural life. The courses are provided in special locations in the centre of Amsterdam. The AHK offers courses at bachelor and advanced or master level in the following subjects: fine arts, music, film and television, theatre, dance, cultural heritage, museology and architecture.
