Reinwardt staff and students attend International Council of Museums

From 9 to 17 August five lecturers, a researcher and master students of the Reinwardt Academy travel to Rio de Janeiro to attend the 23rd general conference of the International Council of Museums (ICOM).

From 9 to 17 August five lecturers, a researcher and master students of the Reinwardt Academy travel to Rio de Janeiro to attend the 23rd general conference of the International Council of Museums (ICOM).

ICOM is an international association recognized by the UN, which exists of thirty thousand museum professionals, spread across committees of various countries and themes. ICOM 2013 focuses on the social function of museums, in which a funtioning as a collective memory is being combined with creativity.

The assembly meets every three year. This triennial conference is therefore important for the 31 international committees to meet each other. Within the international committees the lecturers and researcher of the Reinwardt Academy play an important qualitative and quantitative role.
