Prizewinner Bart van den Heuvel: ‘Las Vegas, here I come!’

Bart van den Heuvel, student in the Technical Theatre Arts, study programme, has been chosen from a host of candidates to take part in the undefinedLive Design International (LDI) conference in Las Vegas. The LDI is one of the largest seminars in the world in the field of lighting and projection for the theatre and entertainment industry. It is the first time that a candidate from the Netherlands has been selected for this prize.

Bart van den Heuvel, student in the Technical Theatre Arts study programme, has been chosen from a host of candidates to take part in the Live Design International (LDI) conference in Las Vegas. The LDI is one of the largest seminars in the world in the field of lighting and projection for the theatre and entertainment industry. It is the first time that a candidate from the Netherlands has been selected for this prize.

The prize is made available by the world-renowned company ETC, which specialises in manufacturing and creating lighting products for the entertainment, architecture and industrial sectors. ETC gives six students the opportunity to go on an all expenses paid trip to Las Vegas to attend the LDI conference. Five participants are from the United States, with Bart van den Heuvel being the only participant selected out of all the international candidates.

Bart van den Heuvel is currently a fourth-year student and has been specialising in lighting design as part of the Technical Theatre Arts study programme since his third year of study. From 19 to 25 November, Bart will be able to become acquainted with world-famous lighting designers and the latest developments in the field of lighting design. LDI 2013 will take place in the Las Vegas Convention Center.
