Duo IKT - Janina Lorenci, saxophone, and Lola Mlacnik, percussion, both first-year master students - will represent the Conservatorium van Amsterdam in the final of the Grachtenfestival Conservatory Competition 2018. The duo has already been very successful at other competitions.

Furthermore, the duo has won the Netherland-America Foundation grant, for their concerts in New York and Washington DC in December 2017. In addition to performing as soloists with the saxophone orchestra at Manhattan School of Music, they premiered two new works written and dedicated to them, one of them by CvA composition student Pepijn Streng.

Janina and Lola formed Duo IKT while studying at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. Their repertoire is as rare and refreshing as the combination itself. Striving to expand the collection of pieces for the combination they arrange existing repertoire as well as commission new works from today's well known composers.

The final will take place on the 11th of February, 14.00h at NedPhO-Koepel
