The Kersjes Fund has awarded the Violin Grant 2023 to Iris van Nuland. According to the jury report, Iris is ‘a musician who has both feet on the ground, but who at the same time can make the music soar with her unique, multicolored tone with which she can make melodies dance. Through her versatility and impressive musical intuition, she manages to get to the heart of such diverse composers as Bach, Paganini and Stravinsky.'
Iris has been studying at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam with Peter Brunt and Maria Milstein since 2020, and is now in the fourth year of the bachelor's degree programme.
