As of the academic year of 2013-2014, starting from September, second and third year students of the Landscaping Master’s course can register for the European Master’s course in Landscape Architecture (EMiLA), an exchange programme of five Landscaping courses in Europe.

EMiLA offers Landscaping students the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the field of landscaping within a European context, and to gain educational experience abroad. The objective is to gain a better insight into important European themes for landscaping and the various approaches of the field. Students learn how political differences within Europe affect the landscape, and they gain insight into cooperation when it comes to cross-border landscapes.

EMiLA is a joint exchange programme of five courses for landscaping in Europe. These courses are Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Paysage (Versailles), Fakultät für Architektur und Landschaft, Leibniz Universität (Hannover), Amsterdam Academy of Architecture, Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (Barcelona), and Edinburgh College of Art, University of Edinburgh.

Students choose two courses and take one semester of each course. Please refer to the website www.emila.eu for current information and an elaboration on the programme. Part of the programme is a 10-day Summer School and an e-learning programme at the website of EMiLA. Graduates receive a supplement European Master in Landscape Architecture, apart from their Master’s degree from the Amsterdam Academy of Architecture.
