The Gijs Idema Trio has won the second edition of the Expression of Art Award by the Set Hotels. The trio, formed by guitarist Gijs Idema (21), double bassist Cas Jiskoot (20) and drummer Tim Hennekes (21), won € 5000,-.
The Expression of Art Award, organised by the Conservatorium van Amsterdam in collaboration with the Conservatorium Hotel, is a jazz competition in wich four bands compete for the prize of € 5000,-, to be put towards career development. Maarten Hogenhuis, Maarten van der Grinten and Edo Righini formed the jury.
