New creaton Exit Sign by Zino Schat
ECD teacher and core team member Zino Schat premiered at Korzo on 14 March with his new creation Exit Sign. With more power you can make more impact. At least, that's what you would say. Unfortunately, all too often people lose themselves in the drive for power and jealously hold on to their powerful position in the world. How much impact can you still make? Exit Sign is a mirror of our pyramid, with men doing everything they can to climb even higher. The intentions may have been good in the beginning but become corrupted by the self-centered pursuit of reaching the top. Fractal's choreographer and artistic director Zino Schat was inspired for Exit Sign by his experiences from the battle scene and current conflicts on the world stage.

ECD Auditions 2024
The ECD auditions are in full swing! The pre-selection days for the Dutch candidates already happened. On 2 April the international candidates will do their best during the pre-selections and from 3 till 6 April the first and second round of the auditions take place. We have formed a nice jury committee consisting of our core team members and guest jury member Cristina Planas Leitão who will work with the candidates on the last day of the auditions during a repertoire practice. We are excited to select the new class of school year 2024-2025!

Symposium on Critical Somatics
On 23 and 24 April ECD will host a symposium on Critical Somatics. We are inviting you to the first public opening of the research project Critical Somatics. The symposium will take place on April 23 and 24, 2024, at the National Ballet Academy and the Academy of Theatre and Dance. In September 2023, ECD launched a research project Critical Somatics, designed and led by Bojana Bauer and Maria Ines Villasmil Prieto, with the aim to critically examine and creatively reshape the teaching of somatic techniques within the ECD programme. The two-year project consists of a teacher-research group, exchanges with guest researchers, and two public symposia.
