International activities of the National Ballet Academy staff

Olivier Wecxsteen will be giving classes in the US and in Italy

This season, the National Ballet Academy teaching team will be extremely active outside our national borders as well. The teachers will be representing the school and giving classes, workshops and masterclasses in England, Germany, Italy, Russia, the United States, Canada, Japan and Indonesia.

 

This season, the National Ballet Academy teaching team will be extremely active outside our national borders as well. The teachers will be representing the school and giving classes, workshops and masterclasses in England, Germany, Italy, Russia, the United States, Canada, Japan and Indonesia.

Nathalie Caris is giving classes and masterclasses this season in Indonesia and at Canada’s National Ballet School in Toronto, where she also trained.

Simona Ferrazza is already a regular guest teacher in Italy, where this season she will once again be working with various companies, and giving classes and masterclasses at ballet competitions all around the country.

Laurence Korsenti gave classes from 10 to 17 October at the Royal Ballet School in London, where she is a regular guest teacher.

Grigory Tchitcherine has been a regular guest teacher for a few years now with the Mariinsky Ballet – where he danced for five years himself before coming to the Netherlands – and this season he will also be giving classes at the school of the Bayerisches Staatsballett in Munich.

Olivier Wecxsteen is giving classes and workshops with various companies and in various cities in the United States, and later this year in Italy as well.

Joanne Zimmerman is giving classes this season during the summer programme of Canada’s National Ballet School.

Artistic director Jean-Yves Esquerre spent some time in Japan around the period of the autumn break, giving classes to the eight main ballet academies in the country and representing the National Ballet Academy at the semi-finals of the Youth America Grand Prix in Osaka. In April 2017, he will also be attending the finals in New York.
